The National Bass West was our first small local tournament. It was awesome to finally fish a laid back tournament. Brian Linehan the tournament director was extremely supportive in us coming out even though it was the last tournament of the circuit. We ended up having a good day catching them on reaction and finesse techniques. I even had to rock climb to get a bait back that was on fire. We caught a couple on beds but most fish were caught junk fishing. Junk fishing is just fishing what looks good with a variety of baits. The weigh in was a breeze. We weighed in at 14.74lbs and got 6th place. We were 1lb out of a check. It was awesome meeting some of the guys and just being on Lake Castaic for a beautiful day. I absolutely recommend fishing this circuit. Brian had everything running extremely smooth, the cost is manageable, and everyone at the tournament was friendly. The baits we caught them on will be attached in links below. The link to the results is below as well.
